Today, for International Women’s Day, I’m releasing CONTOURS: Lead with Heart, a short film and public cultural record that sits at the intersection of women, Country, courage, and civic care.
CONTOURS is a work about leadership as something lived, shared, and carried. Not the loud kind. The kind that protects people. The kind that makes room. The kind that understands that culture doesn’t just “happen”, it’s held.
And that’s why I want to acknowledge Jaclyn Marquis MX.
Jaclyn believed in this work early. She helped create the conditions for it to exist in public. She made space for it, celebrated it, and did the practical, often invisible work of protection: licensing, safeguarding attribution, and helping it travel into the world with integrity.
That’s leadership I recognise. It’s a steady hand on the wheel. It’s the choice to back something meaningful, not just something easy. It’s the commitment to the long tail, the life of a work after the first screening, when it becomes a resource, an offering, a cultural asset others can learn from and share.
If you’d like to watch the film, I’ve published it here, with credits and record details: https://interactor.tech/contours-lead-with-heart
If it resonates, share it. And if you are a council, festival, school, community organisation, or brand looking to commission work that shifts perspective and builds empathy, work that turns public space into a place of connection, I would love to hear what you are making space for.
This release also feels like a small, powerful example of women supporting women. I am grateful to Jaclyn for backing this work with such care, and to Natalie Cook, Natasha Price and Dominique Lamb, alongside the many women who keep showing up, building pathways, and making space for others to have a voice. That ripple matters.
Happy International Women’s Day. Lead with heart.
